Your Home Screen is where you tap most often—so it is a natural place for the Gospel and a line from the saints to meet you before the day rushes on.
Before you start
- Install Catholic Daily from the App Store and open it once so your language and topics are set.
- On iOS 16 or later, Home Screen widgets are supported (interactive controls on Medium and Large widgets need iOS 17+).
Add the widget
- Go to your Home Screen and long-press on the wallpaper until the icons jiggle (or long-press an empty area).
- Tap the + button in the top corner (or Add Widget).
- Search for Catholic Daily and pick a size—Small for a compact verse, Medium or Large for more text and, on iOS 17+, quick actions without opening the app.
- Tap Add Widget, drag it where you want, then tap Done.
Make it yours in the app
Open Catholic Daily and adjust:
- Language — English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
- Topics — filter by 26 topics, including faith, prayer, love, hope, mercy, Mary, and the Eucharist.
- Themes — choose from built-in styles (gradient, minimal, nature-inspired, and more).
- Refresh frequency — once or twice daily, every 6 hours, or every 2 hours.
Content follows the Catholic liturgical calendar, so feast days and seasons stay aligned with the Church year.
Tips
- If the widget looks stale, remove it and add it again, or restart your iPhone once.
- Try one Home Screen widget first, then add a Lock Screen widget so faith greets you when you unlock your phone too.
